In 1983 Eric Schuijt built The E.S. Drum Synthesizer<\/strong>. Using a microphone, he was able to place all kinds of waves on the microphone sound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Much later he bought a Roland V-drum set with the Roland TD10 module,<\/strong> which came in very handy as a practice kit. The module was very cleverly designed, but the cold Roland sounds didn’t compare to a real kit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two years ago Eric purchased the Pearl Mimic Pro. A module with many subtle adjustment options and above all a very good sound.
He mounts the Yamaha DT50 triggers <\/strong>on his DW kit. A Sennheiser e614 (with pop-top!) is used for the hi hat and the Rode NT5’s as overhead. He uses this setup for recordings. Just listen to his Eric meets Buddy Rich recordings.<\/a><\/strong> All outputs of the Pearl Mimic Pro are connected to a Midas M32R Live mixer.*<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eric uses the Yamaha EAD10<\/strong> for small gigs. A smart module with which you can easily enhance your kit without too much fuss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other electronics he uses are the Tama Rythm Watch<\/strong> and his Smartphone<\/strong>. He once bought the Tune Bot<\/strong>, but relies more on his ears to tune a drum set properly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
