In June Eric played with the Eric meets Buddy Rich project at the BIMHUIS.
All drummers are unique, but some drummers are more unique than other drummers. And Buddy Rich (1917-1987) was completely unique. Unsurpassed in terms of energy, musicality & technique.
With this big band project, drummer and initiator Eric Schuijt honored his role model Buddy Rich. The band played work by renowned Rich arrangers, including Don Menza and John La Barbera. Almost as good as Buddy – which also made this evening completely unique – and always swinging. Between eardrum and eardrum. It was completely unique and very swinging.

On Sunday, April 23, Eric played with the Classic Rock band Out of the Cage at 1:00 PM.
It was a festival on the Teylersplein in Nieuwveen.
On King’s Day, April 27, you could have another drum battle with Eric at the Westerstraat – Lijnbaansgracht bridge. Someone even posted a video on Insta that has been viewed more than 45,000 times:
On Sunday May 7 he performed with the Bucket (Big) Band in Zaal 100 in Wittenstraat 100 in Amsterdam.

From September Erik started studying at the Amsterdam Conservatory, taking drum lessons from Lucas van Merwijk, among others.
With his regular Big Band Seabreeze he performed at the Schouwburg Velzen, at the Havenfestival in IJmuiden and at Koel in Driehuis.
Sometimes Eric is asked to play in workshops, such as here at a workshop by Werner Janssen.
